FireSmart Local FireSmart Representatives
Our team at SparkProof includes FireSmart Local FireSmart Representatives and can conduct home and neighbourhood assessments using the FireSmart program tools.
When FireSmart begins to offer certification programs for contractors, it is our goal, as a Company, to become FireSmart recognized. In the meantime, we are fully committed to working with customers to achieve a couple things:
- Neighbourhood FireSmart recognition through the FireSmart Canada Neighbourhood Recognition
- Home FireSmart recognition through the FireSmart BC Home Partners Program

The Association of BC Forest Professionals
The Association of BC Forest Professionals (ABCFP) is responsible for registering and regulating British Columbia’s professional foresters and forest technologists.
In BC, professional forestry is a regulated profession, much like lawyers, accountants, doctors, dentists, and engineers. Anyone practising professional forestry is required by law to be registered with, and meet specific standards set by the ABCFP.
With more than 5,500 registrants, the ABCFP regulates the largest group of forest professionals in Canada.
The practice of professional forestry includes wildfire and forest fuel planning and management, wildfire prevention, protection and suppression. With a current Registered Professional Forester as the founder of SparkProof, all assessments and treatment prescriptions provided will be reviewed and signed off to ensure best-practices in wildfire risk mitigation and FireSmart principles are followed.
The Board of Canadian Registered Safety Professionals
The Board of Canadian Registered Safety Professionals (BCRSP) sets certification standards for the occupational health and safety profession.
BCRSP Examinations are constantly under review as the BCRSP ensures that the certification schemes remain the foremost certifications for OHS professionals and OHS technicians and are reflective of current OHS practice. The BCRSP conducts a review of the competencies required of a CRSP
A CRSP® has in-depth knowledge of health and safety principles and practices and uses this knowledge to develop systems in the workplace in order to achieve optimum control over hazards detrimental to people, equipment, material and the environment. The founder of SparkProof is a CRSP and established a safety consultancy in 2008. The knowledge an experience gained will be applied to all SparkProof operations to ensure a safe workplace.
